Mercoledì 19 Giugno 2013 alle ore 15:00 in Aula 1BC45 il Dr. Sander Domers del Dipartimento di Matematica dell'Università di Bologna, terrà un seminario intitolato "Ising critical exponents on power-law random graphs".

We study the ferromagnetic Ising model on random graphs with a power-law degree distribution, i.e., the fraction of vertices with degree k decays like k^-?. If the mean degree is finite (degree exponent ?>2), then the random graph has a tree-like structure. We use this observation to identify the thermodynamic limit of the magnetization using methods by Dembo and Montanari. We then derive the critical temperature and the critical exponents of the magnetization for this model. (Joint work with Cristian Giardina and Remco van der Hofstad).
