Martedì 6 Dicembre 2016 alle ore 13:30 in Aula 2AB40, Luca Lussardi (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Brescia) terrà un seminario dal titolo “A uniqueness result for a class of non strictly convex variational problems”.
In this seminar I will speak about a recent uniqueness result for a class of non strictly convex variational problems: we answer a long standing open question which Marcellini placed in 1983. I will show the technique of the proof which works fine in dimension two based on a recent result by Alberti-Bianchini-Crippa and I will discuss what happens in dimension greater than two where we need to rephrase the problem in the framework of rectifiable currents.
This is a joint work in collaboration with E. Mascolo (two dimensional case) and G. Alberti (n-dimensional case).
