Call for proposal - Post-doctoral fellowship
"Complex Geometry" from the Burgundy region October 2007 - October 2008

Deadline for application : 15 August 2007

The regional council of Burgundy will support a one-year postdoctoral fellowship in mathematics organized by Laurent Meersseman, professor at the Institute of Mathematics of Burgundy in Dijon, France (I.M.B.).

This position is reserved for candidates satisfying the following three conditions :
1. He/she must be of foreign nationality (that is not French)
2. He/she must have obtained a PhD in mathematics in the last five years (that is after 1st October 2002)
3. He/she must never have been paid a salary in France.

The research area is complex geometry, including
- Geometry of complex manifolds
- Holomorphic foliations and foliations by complex leaves
- Complex Algebraic Geometry
- Complex Differential Geometry
Mathematicians in complex Geometry in Dijon include Marco Brunella, Adrien Dubouloz, Laurent Meersseman, Lucy Moser-Jauslin.

The fellow will integrate the Algebra-Geometry-Topology group of the I.M.B. He/she will assist in the activities of the institute. In particular, he/she will attend seminars and the workshop "kählerian metrics". He/she will have no teaching duties.

-Working conditions
duration: 1 year
support: 100% by the regional council of Burgundy
salary: about 2000 euros per month
Starting date: 1st October 2007.

The application must include :
- a detailed CV
- a research project
- a selection of mathematical papers
- a list of two names of professors prepared to evaluate the candidate if necessary with their email address
- a copy of the PhD diploma
- a signed letter confirming that the candidate have never obtained a salary in France
