Lunedì 13 Novembre 2017 alle ore 12:30 in Aula 2AB40, Virginia Agostiniani (Sissa, Trieste) terrà un seminario dal titolo “Splitting principles, monotonicity formulas, and geometric inequalities”.

The aim of this talk is to present some applications of the conformal splitting technique that we have recently introduced in the study of elliptic boundary value problems. In order to simplify the exposition, we will mainly focus on the archetypical case of harmonic functions in exterior domains. These will be used to derive a new proof of the classical Willmore inequality as well as a sharp weighted version of the Minkowski-Alexandrov-Fenchel inequality, which holds without the usual convexity assumptions. Time permitting, other applications will be presented, in the case of complete nonparabolic Riemannian manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature and Euclidean volume growth.
