A Ph.D. position on time-marching and space-time a posteriori error estimates for transient convection–diffusion equations approximated by finite volume-type methods on nonconforming meshes will be available at CERMICS, Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chausśes, Paris, France. The research work will be concerned on the one hand with theoretical aspects related to the numerical analysis of the a posteriori error estimators with optimal properties and on the other hand with their implementation within an open multi-purpose platform and testing them on academic problems. It will be a part of the research project "Numerical kernel and adaptive mesh refinement for finite volume discretizations in a parallel environment" (NAVIS)
proposed to the French National Grant Agency (ANR).
