Good students are encouraged to submit their candidature for the three years PhD position on the regularity of the minimum time function (see which is expected to start in Department of Pure and Applied Mathematics in Padova University under supervision of professor Giovanni Colombo in the early 2011. The research program aims to study properties close to semiconcavity/semiconvexity (but without Lipschitz continuity).

According with the EU rules, the hired person is supposed to spend, within the three years of the position, six months in the "secondment" institution, which is Universite' P.& M. Curie (Paris 6).
The salary and the terms of employment will follow the Marie Curie rules of the European commission (40,000 euros per year plus mobility, travel and career exploratory allowances). The total amount should be in average of about 50,000 euros per year, before taxes.
