12 months post-doctoral positions in Nancy and Rennes, France

Deadline: July 10, 2011

ARGOMENTI: International Area

In the framework of an ANR (French National Research Agency) project
CHIC (Courbes Hyperelliptiques Isogenies et Comptage)(Hyperelliptic Curves, Isogenies, and Point Counting) whose aim is to develop the algorithmic tools to make genus 2 curves defined over prime fields suitable for practical cryptography, we announce the availability of two postdoctoral positions, each for a duration of 12 months.

The participating institutions and contacts are:
Institut de Mathematiques de Rennes (IRMAR), David Lubicz,
Institut de Mathematiques de Luminy (IML), David Kohel,
INRIA Lorraine research center (LORIA), Emmanuel Thome.

The first position will be based in IRMAR (Rennes) and the second at LORIA (Nancy). The postdocs will be expected to work on the design and efficient implementation of the algorithms needed for the completion of the project. In order to achieve their goals, the postdocs are expected to interact with all member institutions of the CHIC project. The project began in September 2009 and continues until September 2012.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. A strong publication record in algorithms for curves and cryptography as well as attested skills in implementation of algorithms would be appreciated. Nevertheless we encourage any person willing to join our project to apply, since we will carefully consider application of any candidate with a good attested level in mathematics and/or computer science.

The interested candidates are invited to send their application before July the 10th together with a curriculum vitae to the following addresses:
