Course Content:

The course aims at providing students the knowledge needed to understand blockchain technology from an operational point of view. The course will first introduce the fundamental knowledge needed to understand secure data and assets exchange in a blockchain. Next, the course will show the main features characterizing the most prominent blockchain implementations at the time of the course (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Hyperledger). The course will then introduce some use cases of blockchain technology in different domains, e.g., intellectual property management. Last, the course will present smart contracts both on the application and development points of view. The latter will be complemented by laboratory sessions. The course content includes the following modules.
  • Fundamentals
  • Blockchain structure
  • Case studies
  • Applications
  • Smart Contract programming

Grading Criteria:

Multiple choice test.
