presents
spurious
oscillations
focused
in
regions
where
the real
solution has steep gradients: these oscillations are due only to
numerical instability. To avoid them, various stabilization methods are
described, and they consists mainly in proper modifications of the weak
formulation corresponding to Galerkin’s method. We are studying a novel
stabilization method.
