ABOUT ME

Currently, I have a research grant at the Department of Mathematics at the University of Padua. Previously, I was a Ph.D. student in Applied Mathematics since January 2022 at the University of Padua. My project was about the mathematical building of a digital twin for bread leavening to avoid energy waste.

My research interests concern the study of mathematics from the point of view of applications. In particular, continuum mechanics enables a physical-mathematical description of the phenomenon of interest, while techniques of numerical analysis and machine learning facilitate its simulation and prediction. A fundamental point for me is the union of the two areas of mathematics, physics and numerical, which although different are complementary and allow to have a complete perspective of real and applied phenomena. Feel free to reach out to discuss any of these subjects (and beyond) at laura.rinaldi[at]math.unipd.it.
