DVIscope is now Available!
DVIscope is an inexpensive way to view and print DVI files created with plain TeX, LaTeX, AMSTeX, or other TeX macros. It includes a utility for viewing DVI files on the World Wide Web, and contains a "Copy to Clipboard" feature so you can paste portions of a DVI page into other Windows applications.
Click here to download DVIscope. Note:
The self-extracting file, dvi.exe , is 1,995 kilo bytes in size.
If you use a 14,400 baud modem, the estimated downloading time is about
20 minutes; if you use a 28,800 baud modem, it should take about 10 minutes.
DVIscope is designed for viewing and printing DVI files, it is not a complete publishing system. In order to keep the program as small as possible, it installs only a subset of the Computer Modern, LaTeX, and AMS fonts, and it loads only those fonts needed for the DVI file currently being viewed or printed.
DVIscope supports the same graphic formats and \special command syntax as PCTeX for Windows. The supported graphic formats are: Encapsulated PostScript (EPS), Windows Bitmap (BMP), PostScript (PS), and Windows Metafile (WMF) graphic files.
Note: If you intend to publish your documents, or are interested in obtaining the highest possible quality in the printed output, we recommend using PCTeX32 for Windows. Upon close examination, the trained eye will see a difference in documents printed with DVIscope compared to those printed using PCTeX32 for Windows.
System Requirements: An IBM 386/486/Pentium or compatible computer; 4MB RAM; Microsoft Windows 3.x, Windows 95, or Windows NT; 3.2MB hard disk space; any Windows-supported monitor, graphics card, and printer.
