An Invitation to the Representation Theory of Finite Groups

Date
11th April 2016
Location
Dipartimento di Matematica, Università degli Studi di Padova, Italy.
Purpose
In recent years the representation theory of finite groups has seen a lot of progress, especially with respect to the class of "counting conjectures" from modular representation theory. The purpose of this meeting is to provide an opportunity for people outside the area to gain an appreciation for the most recent advances from some of Europe's most prominent representation theorists. In particular, the talks should be accessible to people from neighbouring areas.
Speakers
There will be four talks given by:
Meinolf Geck
(Universität Stuttgart)
Radha
Kessar
(City University)
Gunter
Malle
(TU Kaiserslautern)
Gabriel Navarro
(Universitat de València)
Registration
There is no need to formally register for the conference. However, if you are interested in attending then we kindly ask that you send an email to the organiser
Jay Taylor (taylor [at] math [dot] unipd [dot] it).
This will allow us to obtain a better idea of how many people wish to attend and adjust our organisation accordingly.
