“Realizing representations in finite groups and fusion systems”

Abstract
In the analysis of p-local subgroups of finite simple groups, and in local subsystems of fusion systems, a natural goal is to understand certain internal modules arising within the group. In this talk, we will discuss what sort of modules typically appear in this context, narrowing our focus to understanding certain modules for groups with a strongly p-embedded subgroup, and their realizations in finite groups and fusion systems. These techniques will be used to describe fusion systems with a normal abelian essential subgroup.
