“Hypergeometric Motives”

Abstract
The classical one-variable hypergeometric functions $_nF_{n-1}$ with rational parameters have a geometric origin. This means that they arise from a one-parameter family of motives. These hypergeometric motives represent a class of motives that is accessible for detailed study and still large enough to cover a wide range of features. In this talk we will give an overview of what we know.
